There is a garden surrounding Tsugumori's cafe and accommodation building. The playful Tsugumori Garden was created by Michio Wakui. We asked him about how he ended up settling in Komoro after moving to the United States and about Tsugumori Garden.

The rice served with the curry at Tsugumori is Gorobei rice, a famous local brand of rice. We spoke with Shimizu-san of Sakusaku Farm, a producer of Tsugumori rice who grows rice without the use of pesticides in an environment close to nature.

The blending and roasting of the Tsugumori Blend is entrusted to 695COFFEE in Saku City, next to Komoro City. 695COFFEE's representative, Totsuka-san, started out in his family's Osakaya Bookstore business, then managed Ootoya, before opening his own roasting cafe last year. We spoke to him about the evolution of his family's business and the Tsugumori Blend.

Yokokawa Yuko has been involved in the construction of Tsugumori since its inception. We spoke to her about the process and her thoughts behind it.

At Tsugumori, we are proceeding with the development while preserving as many trees as possible. However, the red pine trees had been attacked by pine bark beetles and were dying, so we cut them down in November of last year. We are also planning to install a wood stove in August, so we used the cut red pine trees for firewood.
